British artist Philip Colbert's large-scale sculpture, 'The Lobster Painter', will be showcased at the cultural retail destination K11 MUSEA's Ground Floor Promenade from 26 March during Hong Kong Art Week. Standing at 7.5 metres tall, this stainless steel artwork is presented by K11 Art Foundation (KAF) and co-created by artist Colbert and Co-Museum. It showcases KAF's innovation and leadership in driving creativity and the arts industry, adding a highlight to Hong Kong Art Week. Moreover, Colbert will present a series of art sculptures and digital works along the K11 MUSEA Waterfront Plaza, bringing his fantastical lobster-filled universe to Hong Kong and offering the community a vibrant hyper-pop art experience. Colbert's works not only explore the infinite possibilities of contemporary art but also integrate technology, breaking through the traditional modes and frameworks of art collection and injecting new elements into Hong Kong's diverse art ecosystem to foster the development of contemporary art.

Cobert has captivated the world with his avant-garde and bold hyper-pop aesthetic and iconic lobster character. Through 'The Lobster Painter', he redefines art collection, making art more accessible to the public. Colbert and Co-Museum will jointly launch a limited edition 38cm 'The Lobster Painter' Asset-Backed Collectible (ABC). Each collectible is linked to the original large-scale sculpture through blockchain technology, allowing collectors to become co-owners of 'The Lobster Painter' and establish an independent and verifiable connection to the original work. Proceeds from the sale of some collectibles will support KAF's art and cultural projects.

Artist Philip Colbert says, 'I've always been passionate about making art more accessible, and I'm thrilled to be presenting this sculpture in Hong Kong in collaboration with KAF and Co-Museum. With the small-scale asset-backed collectible version, the public can collectively own large-scale sculpture art. I want to make art inclusive and break through the conventional boundaries of art ownership.'

Meanwhile, a pop-up store will be set up at the K11 MUSEA Ground Floor Promenade from 26 to 30 March, exclusively offering the limited-edition ABCs and merchandise such as keychains, prints, hats, and t-shirts.

This exhibition of 'The Lobster Painter' is a joint effort by Philip Colbert and Co-Museum, with the strong support of KAF, to promote the vibrant development of Hong Kong's art and culture and reinforce Hong Kong Art Month's significance as a global contemporary art platform.

Philip Colbert seamlessly blends classic art styles with contemporary pop art and continues to push the boundaries of art through various mediums.
